Date: March 3, 1997
Speaker:
Sara Bly, Tony Salvador, Gene Lynch, and Sue Palmiter —

CHIFOO presents an in depth discussion of the role field work plays in product design from three perspectives. You’ll see the three different approaches that have evolved for the series presenters. Each approach has proven successful and will be of benefit to the CHIFOO audience.

Sara Bly leads off the discussion with “Field Work 101” including how she gathers and analyzes field data. For those of you who get the ACM publication “interactions” you will find there is an article on this topic in the January/February 1997 issue.

Tony Salvador follows a week later with his application of field work methodology to product development at Intel. Tony will use a case study which will he will be presenting in his CHI 97 tutorial #15 as a focus for his discussion.

Gene Lynch and Sue Palmiter will complete the series the following week with a discussion of their approaches to tailoring field work based on the needs and constraints of the client.

This enlightening series will be offered on the first three Mondays of March ( March 3, 10, 17 )
